15 majors for Roger Federer

On Sunday, Roger Federer broke Pete Sampras' record of 14 grand slams by winning his 15th grand slam and 6th Wimbledon championship taking down Andy Roddick in a four hour, 5 set epic match. Even if you are a huge Federer fan, it was tough to watch Roddick lose 5-7, 7-6, 7-6, 3-6, 16-14 to Federer after playing such an amazing tournament and giving it his all. We felt bad for him since this is the 4th time Roddick has lost in a grand slam final to Federer.

On the positive side for Roddick, with the help of his new coach, his game has improved a lot and if he keeps playing as he was, he might eventually pull off another grand slam. We were pretty certain that his time had passed.

Federer looks to regain the number one ranking and has regained his confidence after a brutal loss to Rafael Nadal in the finals of Wimbledon last year. In the lower picture, Federer poses with tennis greats Bjorn Borg, Pete Sampras and Rod Laver.
